This rug was woven by hand — not in a factory, but on a loom in a village in Anatolia. Turkish women wove these rugs to furnish their homes or support their families, each pattern chosen by the weaver herself. No two rugs are ever identical.

We source these rugs directly from old homes and private collectors across Turkey, where they've rested for 40 to 60 years. Before reaching you, each piece is restored: dust is shaken out, the pile ("hav") is sheared to an even finish, the rug is washed, and the edges are hand-stitched for structural integrity.

What you receive is a one-of-a-kind textile that survived decades and was made by someone's hands. You will never find another exactly like it.

✦ THE MEANING BEHIND THE PATTERN

In Anatolian weaving tradition, an all-over lattice of small medallions represents continuity and family, each rosette its own quiet wish, repeated like the generations of a household. The soft, faded rust tones recall the warm earth of the Anatolian countryside, while the delicate navy flowerhead border was believed to watch over the home and ward off misfortune.
