This rug was woven by a woman.

Not in a factory. Not by machine. But by hand — on a loom, at home, in a village in Anatolia. Decades ago, Turkish women wove these rugs either to furnish their own homes or to contribute to the family's income. Each pattern was chosen by the weaver herself, each knot tied with her own hands.

We source these rugs directly from old homes and private collectors across Turkey. Each semicircle is individually cut from an authentic hand-knotted Turkish carpet, carefully washed and restored, and finished with durable edging.

This semicircle carries one of the most dramatic compositions in our entire collection.

This piece was cut from the corner medallion section of a larger vintage Turkish carpet — specifically, from the area where the central medallion meets the corner spandrel, creating a composition of extraordinary visual complexity. The upper curved portion of the half moon shows the dusty rose and mauve ground of the carpet's main field, filled with large scrolling arabesk motifs in warm caramel, gold, and dark navy outlines. The lower portion is dominated by a large ivory cream corner spandrel — the sweeping, architectural motif that frames the corner of a medallion carpet — creating a bold diagonal movement across the entire composition.

The result is a piece that looks like a fragment of a Renaissance tapestry, a corner torn from something grand and ancient. The palette is warm and complex — dusty rose, ivory cream, warm caramel gold, dark navy, sage green — all settled into the quiet harmony of decades of genuine aging.
