✦ THE STORY BEHIND THIS RUG

This rug was woven by a woman.

Not in a factory. Not by machine. But by hand — on a loom, at home, in a village in Anatolia. Decades ago, Turkish women wove these rugs either to furnish their own homes or to contribute to the family's income. Each pattern was chosen by the weaver herself, each knot tied with her own hands. No two rugs were ever identical, because no two women wove the same way.

We source these rugs directly from old homes and private collectors across Turkey — places where these pieces have rested for 40, 50, sometimes 60 years. When we find one, it begins a journey before it reaches you.

Each semicircle is individually cut from an authentic hand-knotted Turkish carpet, carefully washed and restored, and finished with durable edging to ensure it arrives structurally sound and ready to use. The faded textures and gentle wear marks tell the story of its past — and make this piece truly one-of-a-kind.

You will never find another exactly like it.

✦ ABOUT THIS RUG

The field is a soft, luminous ivory cream — quiet, warm, and deeply aged — covered edge to edge with an all-over scrolling vine and botanical floral composition. Curling tendrils, small blossoms, and leaf clusters float across the ivory ground in warm taupe and soft slate blue tones, creating a surface that feels both abundant and restrained. A wide floral scroll border frames the curved edge, adding a finishing touch of classical elegance.

The colors carry the gentle, even fading of decades of genuine age — ivory deepened with warmth, taupe settled into its softest register, slate blue barely visible against the cream ground. The overall effect is extraordinarily neutral — a rug that works with almost anything and competes with nothing.
