✦ ABOUT THIS RUG

This one-of-a-kind round rug was cut and reshaped from a larger vintage Turkish rug, its edges securely hand-stitched for a clean, lasting finish. A dense, symmetric lattice and arabesque medallion in rich burgundy and warm grey-brown tones fills an ivory ground, framed by a narrow border of small dark medallion and dot motifs that repeat evenly around the edge. The finely knotted, ornate pattern gives it a bold, dramatic look that works beautifully as a statement centerpiece.

This rug was woven by hand — not in a factory, but on a loom in a village in Anatolia. Turkish women wove these rugs to furnish their homes or support their families, each pattern chosen by the weaver herself. No two rugs are ever identical.

We source these rugs from old homes and private collectors across Turkey, where many have rested for decades. Each piece is prepared according to its condition: dust is removed, the pile may be carefully evened, and the rug is professionally cleaned. When a rug is cut or reshaped, its new edges are securely hand-stitched; unaltered rugs are never described as cut or remade.

What you receive is a one-of-a-kind textile that survived decades and was made by someone's hands. You will never find another exactly like it.
